Spring Fest 2010-“SOME DREAMS DO COME TRUE”!
The fall of winter and subtle arrival of spring marked the beginning of Spring Fest 2010-A Metamorphosis into excitement, thrill and happiness. The 3 day,4 night journey proved to a roller coaster ride into acts unseen, unbelievable performances, extreme excitement and numerous opportunities to imbibe social responsibility.
With a ceremonial beginning by Chief Guest Dr. Ashok Viswanathan, the world famous filmdirector, Spring Fest 2010 kicked off on 21st January. The first day witnessed Splendid classical performance “Rasa Samaroha” ,”Jazz Like That” by Gilad Dobrecky & Freddie Bryant and concluded by rib-tickling entertainment by the world famous Hasya Kavi’s Rahat Indori and Dr.Kumar Vishwas.

The second day was a stage for some wild action. The daredevils on bikes proved who were the bosses on the road in the MTV Stuntmania show leaving the onlookers awestruck. The evening saw the much acclaimed drama “Dance Like A Man” by Lilette Dubey resulting in a standing ovation from the audience. The day ended with the Star Nite by Kailash Kher-whose performance touched souls and evoked undiscovered adrenalin.


The third day featured Kryptos-the Spearheads of heavy metal of India and the brilliant performance by Pt.Debashish Bhattacharya-the slide guitarist and also a Grammy 2009 nominee. The last day had “Pritam”-the famous music director who with his brilliant band performed from their long list of chartbuster hit music making each and everyone dance and sway to their tunes.
The events had excellent participation and every event was a huge success. Just to name a few, WildFire went fantastic with many professional bands competing for glory. Centrifuge had mind blowing performances by participants coming from all parts of the country. 70 MM saw many budding film makers. All new attempts in incorporating new events into genres hitherto unexplored in cultural fests have resulted in success. Mocking Bird-the moot court event, Archriti-the architectural design competition and A Mighty Pen-the Journalism event saw extremely good participation making Spring Fest one of the few festivals to even incorporate such things.
This edition of Spring Fest had many acclaimed associations for various associations like Saregama Music, Pritish Nandy Communications , AIESEC etc. And participation from various parts of the country like Punjab, Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Tamil Nadu and many more....
